June was much more hot than May. All weather predictions went awry. Probably "Hurricaine Aila" played havoc with weathermen the world over. Personally I experienced the worst June during my 30 years stay in Rourkela. It was very hot and humid. Never before did we experience such sultry conditions under high temperature(never below 40 degree Celcius)and the shrubs in the garden started getting burnt in the external leaves and that too despite being watered twice and some thrice during a day- courtesey Anita and Payani. The first rains fell on 27th June 2009 in Rourkela and the temperature fell only after the next good shower on 30th June. Some occasional flowers that came up during the hot and humid days of June 2009.

May 2009 Flowers

The heat in May was very severe. The town experienced no rains from September 2008 and the temperature sore to 40+ degree Celcius almost everyday- quite often it was 45. Niyati's shrubs started getting burnt despite being watered twice. The only saving grace was some rains towards the end of the month and here are some flowers.
